Terrance's path towards librarianship and records management commenced in Edmonton, Alberta where he began actively preparing for a university career while working full time in the industrial sector. In 2006, he began an undergraduate degree program at Saint Mary's University here in Halifax. During this time, Terrance became involved with the Saint Mary's University Archives, and later worked as an archivist assistant at the Dalhousie University Archives and Special Collections while completing his Master of Library and Information Studies degree. During Terrance's graduate studies he was invited to work on a records management project for a leading Halifax law firm. "This experience impressed upon me the practical value and necessity of records and information management. It also highlighted a serious gap in local information management services."
Laura developed a keen interest in the way organizations create, store, and share information while working as a Relocation Consultant for Brookfield Global Relocation Services in 2007. Adopting Halifax, Nova Scotia as home, and enrolling in Dalhousie University's Master of Library and Information Studies program, afforded her many opportunities to gain hands-on project management, metadata assignment, and records management experience on behalf of local clients. These opportunities, and the wonderful experience of teaching information fluency skills at Mount Saint Vincent University, cemented Laura's ambition to work closely with clients in order to help design tailored solutions for information management challenges.
